We here at Socksmith want our “Women’s Empowerment” socks to be just like the icons we’ve put on them: strong and capable of lasting a very long time.

RUTH BADER GINSBURG PORTRAIT SOCKS 

 

We so, so wish Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was around to see us honor her with these socks, but unfortunately we lost her earlier this year. The cultural and feminist icon and champion of gender equality will remain the rare historical figure capable of shaping both our past and our future. 

 

As we slip on the socks that bear her image, we’re reminded of her inspiring words of wisdom:

MAYA ANGELOU "BE A RAINBOW" SOCKS

 

Capable of speaking six languages, poet and civil rights icon Maya Angelou was the type of artist who understood exactly what it takes to positively impact others:

We’re convinced that strength is, and always has been, a female thing.

Laurel left us much too soon, but we can carry on her legacy by proudly wearing these socks that prove just how much of an original she really was. 

 

MICHELLE OBAMA PORTRAIT SOCKS

 

Okay. We admit it. We’ve always been a bit jealous of the amazing relationship enjoyed by Michelle Obama and her significant other. They are pretty much the most perfect couple in the world. Ever. 

 

Not only that, but from pushing kids to improve their diet to promoting women’s rights across the globe, Michelle kicked so much butt as the First Lady. 

 

But it’s her grace and oh-so-cool demeanor you’ll think of when you roll on these socks.

 

ELLA FITZGERALD PORTRAIT SOCKS

 

Her superior skill as a jazz singer is just one reason why we adore Ella Fitzgerald. 

 

The Queen of Jazz received thirteen Grammy awards and sold more than 40 million albums during her career, but it’s her generous nature that really toots our horn. 

 

Ella routinely made so many sizable donations to child welfare charities that in 1993 the Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation was created to help at-risk and disadvantaged members of our communities.

 

One of Ella’s most recognized quotes comes to mind each time we roll on these socks: 

 

"Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong."
